Benim Güzel Okulum İMA!

Biliyorsunuz çocukluk hayalimi gerçekleştirmeye karar verdim..Evet bu çok büyük bir adımdı..

You know i decided to realize my childhood dreams.. And yes it was a really big step...

Diğer büyük adımsa bu hayalin nasıl gerçeğe dönüşebileceği ile ilgiliydi..Yani nasıl bir eğitim almalıydım?

Another big step is deciding how to realize my dream.. I mean what kind of education do i need?

Hemen üniversiteleri araştırmaya başladım..Birkaç güzel alternatifte buldum ama hepsi için ÖSS gerekiyordu..Bu durumda zaten yeterince uzun bir lisans ve yüksek lisans süresi geçiren ben, tahmin edersiniz ki hopp rotamı özel kurs ve okullara çevirdim..

First of all i started to search the universities.. I found some good alternatives but all of them need a degree from Student Chosing Test for university (ÖSS).. In that case for a person like me that completed university and MBA degree for a long time   ago, appreciate that oops i turned my route to special course and academies...

İstanbul Moda Akademisi, açılacağını duyduğum ve takip ettiğim bir kurum olarak ilk kapısını çaldığım yerdi..Zaten içeri girip okulun havasını soluduktan sonra başka hiçbir yere bakınmaya bilgi almaya gerek bile yoktu..Tabii ki meraklı biri olarak yine de gidip bilgi aldım..ama sonuç değişmedi :)

Istanbul Fashion Academy was place that i heard it will open soon so i first visited there.. Anyway when you go inside and see the mood of the school there is no need to look for another place.. Of course a person like me curious as a cat i visited other options.. But the result did not change:)

Ekim ayının başından bu yana da İstanbul Moda Akademisinde Moda Tasarımı eğitimi alıyorum..Toplamda 18 aylık bir program..Şu ana kadar gördüklerim ve öğrendiklerimle söyleyebilirim ki İstanbul Moda Akademisi bütün moda severler için bir cennet..

I'm educating at Fashion Design program since last October at Istanbul Fashion Academy.. It's totally an eighteen month program.. And up to present that i've seen and learnt, Istanbul Fashion Academy is a place like heaven for those who is interested at fashion..

                           

Çünkü herşeyden önce çok titiz ve disiplinli bir programı var İMA'nın..

Because IFA has a careful and disciplined course program..

Hangi zaman aralığında ne yapılacak hangi bilgi önce hangisi sonra verilecek herşey önceden programlanmış..Dolayısıyla siz her bilgiden sonra aslında bir diğerine hazırlanmış buluyorsunuz kendinizi..

Everything is programmed perfectly that at what time period which lesson will be given, which info will be given first.. So after every course you find yourself that you're really ready for the next one .. 

1 yıl öncesine kadar ne olduğunu bile bilmediğim sketch book nedir, nasıl hazırlanır,  bir koleksiyonun fikir aşaması nasıldır, teknik çizimler nasıl yapılır(ama uydurmasyon değil gerçek anlamda :) ), photoshop ve illustrator kullanılarak koleksiyon ve board nasıl hazırlanır, kumaş türleri, lifler, dokumalar nedir, kalıp nasıl çıkartılır ve tabii dikiş, dokular değiştirilerek neler yapılabilir..vg. burda öğrendim.. Anlattıklarımdan da anlaşılacağı gibi bir modelistlik stilistlik kursu değil burası..gerçek anlamda bir moda okulu..

I learnt what is sketch book, how it is prepared, what are the conception parts of a collection, how can a technical drawing can be prepared (but a real one not the fake style:) ), how can you prepare a board or a collection with using illustrator and photoshop, type of fabrics, fibers, what is weaving, how can you prepare templates, what can you prepare chancing the textures of a fabric and of course sewing ext. in here that i have never heard one year ago..
As you can  understand the things that i told, this place is not a school that educates modelist or a stylist... They truely educate a fashion designer..

Son olarak bir de kütüphaneden bahsetmek istiyorum..Modayla ilgili herşeyin olduğu üniversitelerle yarışabilecek bir kütüphane var ve sadece öğrenciler değil herkes burdan yararlanabiliyor..Öğrenci değilseniz dışarı çıkartamıyorsunuz ama kütüphanede okuyabiliyorsunuz..İnanılmaz bir kaynak :)

And at last i want to talk about the library.. There is a library that can challenge with the university libraries that have all kind of fashion stuff and not just the students, everybody can use this place.. If you are not a student you can't take the books out with you but of course you can read then.. An incredible resource:)

Modaya ilginiz varsa, ufkunuzu açmak istiyor ya da kariyerinizi benim gibi kökten değiştirmek istiyorsanız mutlaka bir gelip görüşün..O havayı soluduktan sonra eminim ne demek istediğimi anlayacaksınız :)

If you are interested on fashion, open new horizons to yourself or like me you want to change your career completely from the beginning come and see this place.. I'm sure you'll understand what i mean when you feel the fashion mood inside:)
